Cranston Farms, Ancaster
Join Farm & Food Care Ontario for the first of two FREE Breakfast on the Farm events taking place this summer.
About the host family:
Cranston Farms has been in the Cranston family since 1955 and is now run by Doug and Joan Cranston, as well as their son James. The modern, open-concept "pack" barn is home to between 90 and 95 milking cows. The family also runs a large sweet corn farm in the summer. In 1995, Doug and Joan Cranston were winners of the Outstanding Young Farmers of Canada award.
Breakfast from the Farm provides a unique opportunity for farmers and non-farming Ontarians to have a conversation about food and farming. It provides a showcase for agriculture and gives non-farmers the opportunity to meet real farmers and members of the agri-food industry. Guests attending the June 23 event will be treated to an all-Ontario Breakfast, and will have a chance to tour the farm while having their questions answered by the people that help produce the food we eat.
