About Us

Farm & Food Care Ontario is a registered Canadian charity and whole-sector coalition made up of representatives from all farming types and associated businesses and positions itself as the helpful expert on Ontario agriculture. Farm & Food Care Ontario brings farmers, agricultural professionals, related businesses, government organizations and other groups together with a mandate to build public trust in food and farming in Ontario and across Canada. Our sister organizations, Farm & Food Care Saskatchewan and Farm & Food Care P.E.I, follow a similar mandate in each respective province. Both organizations collaborate on national initiatives.

Our Vision

Earn public trust in Ontario food and farming.

Our Mission

Proactively work with Ontario farmers and food partners to build public trust and consumer confidence in our food and farming systems.

Farm & Food Care Ontario provides credible information on food and farming to non-farmers, and engages the agriculture community through training, projects and resource development in three key areas:

Staff stays current on issues related to farming, including animal welfare, environmental and food safety issues, activities by special interest groups, public attitudes, and government legislation. This helps to ensure the agricultural community remains at the forefront of issues like animal care, environment, food safety and biotechnology. Farm & Food Care Ontario also works to find new and innovative ways to introduce farmers to non-farming audiences.

The organization was created in 2012 through the amalgamation of the Ontario Farm Animal Council (OFAC) and Agricultural Groups Concerned about Resources and the Environment (AGCare).
