Livestock Emergency Response Workshops

Vehicular accidents involving livestock transportation present unique challenges for first responders. If animals being transported are injured, trapped or loose as a result of an accident, special safety considerations are required.

Experience has shown that responders with livestock emergency training can more confidently address these situations in an organized and safe manner, while minimizing overall time on scene.

Farm animal rescue expert, Victor MacPherson, delivers this course with sections on Farm Animals on the Loose and Truck Accidents. The sections cover livestock trailer designs, as well as safe extrication, containment and transport of animals. Course sections also address laws and regulations around animal transportation, handling and care, as well as euthanasia protocols, and how to develop your local response plan. This course has been developed specifically for first responders and emergency personnel.

Zoom session fees are based on $1,000 per course, up to 30 persons or by arrangement and $2,500 for in-person events at your training centre. For more information: Bruce Kelly, Project Consultant: bruce@farmfoodcare.org: 519-837-1326, ext. 292
