Breakfast on the Farm – Ottawa

Join Farm & Food Care Ontario for an exciting Breakfast on the Farm experience! You'll have the opportunity to learn about the fascinating world of agriculture and witness firsthand the incredible variety of food produced right here in Ontario. Experts, including farmers and agricultural groups, will be on hand to provide insights and answer any questions you may have, for an engaging and enlightening experience for all.

Meet the Ruiter family.

For 62 years, this second-generation dairy farm just outside of Ottawa has been the Ruiter family's labour of love. Their farm is home to 110 animals and showcases the impressive innovation and technology used in farming today. On June 22, the Ruiter family welcomes you to visit Blackrapids farm to tour a modern dairy barn and witness firsthand how robots seamlessly handle tasks such as milking and feeding, reflecting the Ruiter Family's commitment to efficiency and sustainability.

Tickets are a $5 per person. Each ticket includes one (1) breakfast sandwich, milk and a piece of fruit.

There will be no parking at the farm.

Shuttles:

- All attendees must park at the Fallowfield Parking & Ride at 3347 Fallowfield Rd, Nepean.

- Visit our registration tent with your tickets when you arrive at the shuttle pick-up location. Tickets must be printed or downloaded to your smartphone.

- Shuttles will operate every 20 minutes taking attendees to the farm.

- Shuttles will be wheelchair accessible.

- To minimize wait times, we ask that bulky strollers and wagons be left at home.

- The last shuttle back to the park & ride will leave the farm at 2 p.m.
