On April 11, 2024 farmers, producers, and agriculture business representatives gathered at the GrandWay Events Centre in Elora, to participate in Farm & Food Care Ontario’s (FFCO) 2024 Annual Conference.
Participants joined from across the province to listen to three speakers; Chris Koch, a farmer and motivational speaker with an inspiring, "If I Can.." message; Graham Taylor, a Professor and Canada Research Chair in Machine Learning at the University of Guelph; and Dr. Cami Ryan, a social and behavioural sciences lead at Bayer Crop Science, with over 25 years of experience in agriculture and ag sciences.
In front of a large crowd in Elora, Farm & Food Care Ontario (FFCO) presented the annual Farm & Food Care Champion Award to Henry Swierenga of Niagara, on April 11, 2024.
Henry was nominated by the Ontario Federation of Agriculture (OFA) in recognition of his continued support and promotion of agriculture, with letters of support submitted by Chris Mullet Koop, President of the Niagara Federation of Agriculture (NFA) and Joanne Fuller of OFA. His award was presented by Bruce Christie, past chair and board member of FFCO, with assistance from Ontario Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, Lisa Thompson.
